Some codes may stop working without warning. We re check the list every week.

How We Verify Codes

Three rules decide what makes it onto this page. They are the difference between a list you can trust and a list someone scraped from a forum last week.

  • Tested on a live EUW account

Every code on the active list goes through the official Riot redemption page on a real EUW account before it ships to this page. No copy paste from other sites without confirming the code actually grants the reward.

  • Re verified weekly

Each code is re tested every week, and again after every Riot patch deploy in case a balance change quietly invalidates an old code. When a code stops working it moves to the expired list the same day, with no soft 'might still work' hedging.

  • No generators, no skin farms

We do not list codes from generators, third party free skin tools, or any site that asks you to log into your Riot account to claim rewards. Those are not legitimate sources, and we treat any code that traces back to one as already burnt.

Expired LoL Codes

These codes worked in the past but have since expired. They will not redeem any rewards. We keep them listed so you can quickly check whether a code you found elsewhere is still valid.

How to Redeem LoL Codes

Four steps. Codes redeem on the official Riot page, the reward shows up in your account immediately, no client restart required.

  1. Open the redemption page

Go to shop.riotgames.com/redeem in any modern browser. The web flow is faster than the in client store and avoids client glitches after a patch deploy.

  2. Sign in to the right account

Region is set by the account you sign in with, not by where you connect from. Wrong account means the code is gone forever, codes cannot be transferred between accounts.

  3. Paste the code and confirm

Codes are case sensitive. Paste from our table above instead of typing manually so you avoid 0 / O and 1 / l mix ups, then confirm.

  4. Check your loot inventory

Skin shards, chests, and champion shards land in your loot. XP boosts and emotes activate right away. The reward applies immediately, no client restart needed.

What Rewards You Can Get

Most codes give cosmetic items. Skin shards are the most common reward and the most valuable, since they convert directly into permanent skins or into Orange Essence. Hextech chests with keys are second, with skin shards, champion shards, ward skins, summoner icons, or gemstones rolled when the chest opens.

Riot Points are not given through public codes. They have not been for years. The only way RP enters your account through a code is via prepaid RP cards bought in stores, and that uses a separate redemption flow. If a site claims to have free RP codes, it is a scam every time without exception.

Codes from past Worlds and MSI broadcasts were mostly skin shards and ward skins. The current battle pass cycle leans toward champion capsules and event themed chests.

Why Your LoL Code Is Not Working

Most failed redemptions come down to one of three things. The code was already redeemed on this account, since each code is one redemption per account with no resets. The code is region locked to a different server than your account, because region is set by the account itself, not by your IP. Or the code has simply expired without notice, since Riot does not publish expiration dates and a code that worked yesterday can return an error today.

If a code looks fine but will not redeem, copy paste from the table above instead of typing it manually since dashes and case can matter, and try again in an hour if the redemption page is glitching after a fresh patch deploy.

Questions

No. Riot stopped distributing RP through public codes years ago. Anything claiming free RP codes is a scam or affiliate-link bait.

Irregularly. Codes usually appear around major events like Worlds, MSI, season starts, or partnership campaigns with brands. There can be weeks with nothing and then several at once during a big event.

Yes. Most expire within a few weeks or months, sometimes faster if the code was tied to a one-time event. Riot does not publish expiration dates, so the only way to confirm is to try redeeming.

Sometimes. Most codes are one-time use per account but can be used once on each account you own, as long as the account is on the right region. A few codes are flagged as account-unique server-wide and will not redeem on any second account.

No. PBE has its own reward system and public codes do not apply there.

Promo codes are free codes for cosmetic rewards. Prepaid card codes come from physical RP cards bought in stores like Walmart or Target and grant Riot Points. They use a different redemption flow and should not be confused with each other.

Through Riot's content creator program or direct partnership deals. These codes are usually distributed to viewers through the creator's own channels, not public lists.

Using a code is safe since it just gets pasted into the official redemption page. What is not safe is logging into your account on a third-party code generator site. Generators do not exist. Those sites exist to steal credentials.
