After 70 games with T1 Jayce, I'm convinced this skin actually gives you a slight edge in teamfights. The World Champions 2023 collection needed a strong Jayce representation and they absolutely delivered with this one.
The Q feels significantly more responsive compared to Battle Academia, especially when you're trying to poke through minions during laning phase. Your E gate placement has cleaner animation frames that make those quick combos flow better when you're getting ganked. And the hammer form W just hits different, the visual clarity makes it easier to track your attack speed buff during those messy dragon fights. I remember this one game where we were contesting third drake, enemy Viego tried to dive me but the smoother cancel on my hammer E let me knock him back perfectly into my team's CC chain. That play probably doesn't happen on Forsaken Jayce where the animations feel more clunky.
Compared to other Jayce skins like Debonair or Resistance, T1 actually helps your gameplay. The ranged Q projectile is easier to track for both you and your team, which matters when you're trying to coordinate poke before objectives. The recall animation is clean without being too flashy. Worth the 1350 RP? Maybe if you're planning to main him or already have around 100k mastery points.
Is T1 Jayce worth it for casual players though? Not really pay to win but the technical improvements are noticeable once you've played enough games. The skin won't make you suddenly pop off if you can't land skillshots, but it removes some of the visual noise that older skins have. For serious Jayce players, this is probably his best competitive skin right now.
