Solar Eclipse Leona hits different when you're tower diving at level 6 and the enemy ADC thinks they're safe under turret. After 80 games with this skin, I can honestly say it's become my go to pick over Battle Academia and even Pool Party.

The E feels incredibly smooth compared to base Leona, with a cleaner animation that makes those max range engages way easier to land. Your W explosion has this golden burst that's actually more visible in river fights, which helped me secure dragon steals twice last week just by timing it better. And the ult? That golden sword slam is probably the most satisfying thing about this skin. During a baron fight yesterday, I landed a three man ult and the visual clarity was insane, making it super easy for my team to follow up. The sound effects are crisp too, especially when you're chaining Q into auto for that quick stun combo in lane.

Is Solar Eclipse Leona worth it compared to other Leona skins? For 1820 RP it's definitely on the expensive side, but the animations alone make it feel less clunky than her older skins. Pool Party has the fun factor with the umbrella, but Solar Eclipse just feels more responsive when you need to pop off in ranked. The recall animation where she summons that massive sun is pretty sick too, though you'll rarely see it if you're constantly roaming like you should be.

If you're a Leona main who plays her regularly, this skin is worth grabbing during a sale. But if you only pull her out occasionally, stick with something cheaper like Valkyrie. The visual upgrades are mostly cosmetic, not pay to win, but they definitely make playing her more enjoyable.
