Picked up Safari Caitlyn from a mystery chest last month and honestly wasn't expecting much from this older skin. After around 55 games though, I'm actually surprised how well it holds up compared to other Caitlyn skins in my collection.
The auto attacks feel surprisingly smooth for such an old skin, and her Q animation is cleaner than base Caitlyn which makes last hitting under tower way easier. Her E net looks a bit dated but the animation cancel feels more responsive than even Arcade Caitlyn somehow. The trap visibility is perfect too, not too flashy like Pool Party where enemies spot them instantly, but clear enough for you to track during teamfights. Had this insane dragon fight yesterday where I could perfectly see my trap placements in the river brush while the enemy Kai'Sa walked right into three of them trying to flank us.
Compared to Pulsefire or Battle Academia, Safari definitely shows its age visually, but mechanically it's probably one of the cleanest Caitlyn skins you can use. The ult scope is basic but super clear, no fancy effects blocking your view of the target. And the recall animation where she's looking through binoculars is actually pretty charming for a 975 RP skin from back in the day.
Is Safari Caitlyn worth it if you're a Caitlyn main? If you can snag it when the legacy vault opens, absolutely. It's pure cosmetic advantage with zero pay to win elements, but the clean animations make it feel better than half her modern skins. Not the flashiest choice but definitely underrated for anyone who values clarity over effects.
