Bought this skin after my duo kept flexing his Battle Academia Ezreal on me for months, and honestly, after 120 games with Pulsefire I'm convinced it's the superior choice for anyone who actually wants to climb.
The evolution mechanic as you level makes every game feel like a progression, but what really sold me is how the Q feels more responsive than any other skin. The projectile is visually cleaner which helps me track it better in messy teamfights, and the W animation has this distinct sound cue that makes it easier to time my E for the proc. During a baron fight yesterday, I managed to snipe their ADC through three bodies because the ult beam is so much clearer than Battle Academia's flashy mess. That kill probably won us the game since we were behind and their Jinx was fed. The E blink animation feels faster too, though that might just be the sci-fi effects making it seem smoother.
Compared to other Ezreal skins, Pulsefire sits in this perfect spot where it's not too flashy but still feels premium. Battle Academia is fun but the abilities blend together in teamfights. Star Guardian is cringe but good for tilting enemies. And base Ezreal just feels clunky after using Pulsefire for so long. The 3250 RP price tag stings initially but considering you're getting basically four skins that evolve throughout the match, it's worth it.
Is Pulsefire Ezreal worth it? For serious Ezreal players, absolutely. The visual clarity alone gives you a slight edge, and while it's not exactly pay-to-win, the cleaner animations definitely help with CS and skillshot accuracy. My experience with Pulsefire Ezreal convinced me to uninstall Battle Academia.
