PROJECT: Yi

After getting PROJECT: Yi from a mystery chest last month, I've been spamming it for around 55 games straight and honestly wasn't expecting to love it this much. The skin completely changes how Master Yi feels to play, especially compared to his base animations that feel dated as hell in 2024.

The Q animation is probably the cleanest part of this skin with the holographic slashes making it way easier to track who you're hitting in teamfights. His W meditation gets this sick digital shield effect that actually helps me time when to cancel it for maximum damage reduction. But the real game changer is the ult where the orange trail and sound effects make it super obvious when you're popping off versus when it's about to expire. I remember this one dragon fight where their Jinx tried to kite me out but the clearer hitbox on my autos let me stick to her perfectly while my team secured the objective. Compared to something like Cosmic Blade Yi which I used before, PROJECT feels more responsive overall without all the flashy particles blocking your view.

Is PROJECT: Yi worth it if you're a Yi main? Absolutely. The skin isn't pay to win but the smoother cancel on abilities definitely makes a difference when you're fed and trying to carry. My experience with PROJECT: Yi convinced me that the 1820 RP price tag is justified for anyone who plays him regularly. The PROJECT theme fits his kit perfectly and after using it this much I can't go back to his other skins. If you're on the fence about buying it, wait for a sale but definitely grab it eventually.
