Bought Infernal Olaf after a brutal losing streak where I needed something fresh to reset my mental, and honestly this skin hits different after 70 games of testing. The fire effects actually make last hitting feel smoother somehow, like the axe swing has better visual feedback compared to base Olaf where I'd sometimes mistime CS under tower.
The Q axes are probably the biggest improvement over something like Brolaf. When you're chasing through river and throwing multiple axes, the flame trail makes it way easier to track which one you're about to pick up, especially during those chaotic dragon fights where everyone's abilities overlap. Had this insane play yesterday where I tower dove their ADC and the burning W animation made it super clear when my lifesteal was active, letting me perfectly time the dive without inting. But the ult is where this skin really shines. The explosion when you pop it feels more responsive than Pentakill Olaf, and enemies seem to respect the fire aura more even though it's purely cosmetic.
Is Infernal Olaf worth it compared to other Olaf skins? At 1350 RP it's not cheap, but the cleaner animation cancels on E make those quick trades in lane feel less clunky. The recall animation where he bathes in lava is sick too, though you'll rarely see it if you're playing aggressive like you should. This isn't pay to win or anything, but the visual clarity definitely helps in teamfights.
For Olaf mains who already own Dragonslayer or Sentinel, maybe wait for a sale. But if you're looking for your first Olaf skin and want something that feels good to spam, Infernal delivers where it counts.
