Hot Rod Corki

Getting mystery gifted Hot Rod Corki felt like a joke at first since I barely touched the yordle pilot in years, but after 55 games with this skin, I'm actually converted to playing him more often. The hot rod aesthetic completely changes how the champion feels compared to other Corki skins, especially against something like UFO Corki which feels floaty and disconnected.

The Q phosphorus bomb has this satisfying engine backfire sound that makes CSing feel way smoother, and the W valkyrie package literally turns you into a flaming muscle car leaving tire tracks. But what really sold me was the ult rockets having cleaner animation frames that made kiting during a baron fight yesterday so much easier. I was getting chased by their fed Kayn and managed to perfectly space my rockets while backing up through river because the projectile clarity is insane on this skin. You can actually tell where your damage is going unlike base Corki where the missiles blend together.

Compared to Red Baron which used to be my go to when I borrowed accounts, Hot Rod just feels more responsive overall. The auto attack animation doesn't have that weird delay, making those early trades where you're weaving autos between abilities actually winnable. And the recall where he's working on the engine probably tilted more enemies than my actual gameplay when I'm ahead.

Is Hot Rod Corki worth it for someone who doesn't main him? Honestly yeah, it's one of those skins that makes a clunky champ feel modern again. Not quite pay to win but definitely makes the experience way less painful when you get autofilled ADC.
