Got this skin from a Hextech chest last month and honestly didn't expect much since I usually run Pug'Maw or Lion Dance. After about 50 games though, this thing's grown on me way more than I thought it would.
The W feels insanely smooth compared to other Kog'Maw skins, and the bio barrage animation actually makes it easier to kite properly. Your autos have this satisfying mechanical thunk that helps with timing, especially when you're trying to maximize that attack speed steroid. But what really sold me was the ult indicator being clearer than base skin. Last night I was defending baron pit against a fed Katarina and managed to land three consecutive Rs through fog because the projectile arc just reads better. The Q animation cancel also feels more responsive, probably because of how the hextech energy builds up before release.
Compared to Battlecast, which used to be my go to, Hextech actually gives you better visual clarity in teamfights. The passive explosion doesn't blend into terrain like some of his other skins do, which matters when you're trying to CS under tower after getting ganked. And while it's definitely not pay to win, there's something about the E trajectory that makes it easier to judge whether you'll hit someone at max range.
Is Hextech Kog'Maw worth it? If you're a Kog main who already owns the essentials, absolutely. The exclusive crafting system makes it feel special, and my experience with Hextech Kog'Maw has been surprisingly positive for what I initially thought was just another robot skin. Maybe not a day one craft priority, but if you get the gemstones, don't sleep on this one.
