Dragonslayer Olaf

A savage berserker from the hinterlands, Olaf sought a warrior's death in slaying dragons. One by one, the horrid beasts fell to his axe, and rumors even tell of him consuming the heart of a dragon he beheaded. Truth is, this act has only fanned the fire of his rage, driving him to bring about the end of dragons.

Picked up Dragonslayer Olaf from a mystery chest last month and honestly wasn't expecting much since I usually run Pentakill or Brolaf. After about 50 games though, this skin completely changed my mind about what makes a good Olaf skin.

The Q axe throw feels way cleaner than base skin, with the dragon-themed projectile having better visibility in teamfights. Your W lifesteal gets this sick fire effect that actually helps track when it's active during chaotic fights. But the real difference is the ult transformation where you literally become this flaming berserker. Last night I was getting kited by an Ashe and popped ult for a tower dive, and the intimidation factor alone made her flash early. The animation is probably the smoothest cancel I've experienced on any Olaf skin, making those clutch escapes feel more responsive compared to other Olaf skins like Butcher where everything feels clunky.

Is Dragonslayer Olaf worth it? For 1350 RP it's definitely not pay-to-win but the visual clarity improvements are insane. The E true damage has this satisfying crunch sound that helps you time resets better when you're fed. I think the only downside is the recall animation takes forever, but you're usually too busy running people down to care. Compared to Sentinel which costs the same, Dragonslayer just feels more impactful in game.

My experience with Dragonslayer Olaf convinced me it's worth for anyone who plays him regularly. The skin aged really well since release and still holds up against newer releases. If you're an Olaf main looking to upgrade from base, this is the one that'll make the biggest diff in your games.
