Finally picked up Angler Jax after getting destroyed by one in ranked who kept outplaying me with what looked like cleaner animations. After 55 games with it, I can confirm this skin actually makes a difference compared to other Jax skins, especially if you're used to God Staff or Nemesis.
The E animation feels way more responsive than base Jax, and you can actually see the dodge radius better with that fishing net effect. His W reset combo flows smoother too, probably because the fishing rod bonk has less visual clutter than his lamppost swings. But what really sold me was during a baron fight where I could track my passive stacks easier with those water splash effects around my feet. The ult activation with that big wave splash makes it super clear when you're tanky, which helped me time dives better. Compared to God Staff which I mained before, Angler's animations don't overlap as much so you can actually tell what's happening in teamfights.
Is Angler Jax worth it? For 975 RP it's not just cosmetic like most skins at this price. The clearer hitbox indicators on E and the smoother cancel windows on AA resets give you a slight edge, especially when you're fed and need to pop off in chaotic fights. My experience with Angler Jax convinced me it's borderline pay-to-win, though not as obvious as some other clarity advantage skins.
If you're a Jax main who plays him regularly, grab this over flashier options like Mecha Kingdoms. The competitive edge from better visual clarity alone makes it worth, and you'll definitely feel the difference after a few games.
