Academy Ahri

Academy Ahri completely changed my mind about budget skins after I got it from a hextech chest last month. Playing around 55 games with it now, I'm genuinely surprised how clean this skin feels compared to base Ahri, especially considering it's only 750 RP if you're buying it outright.

The Q feels way more responsive than base skin, with the orb having this bright blue trail that makes it easier to track in teamfights. Her E charm has this cute little heart effect that's actually clearer than most of her other skins, and I've landed more max range charms because of it. But what really sold me was during a dragon fight where I needed to kite their fed Darius. The W foxfires have this distinct purple glow that made it super easy to track which ones had already targeted minions versus which were still available for him. Compared to Star Guardian Ahri which I used to main, Academy's animations feel less clunky overall, though Star Guardian's ult definitely looks cooler.

Is Academy Ahri worth it? Absolutely. It's not pay to win or anything, but the cleaner animations genuinely help with skill clarity. My experience with Academy Ahri has been way better than expected for a skin in this price range. And the recall animation where she's doing homework is probably the most relatable thing Riot's ever made. If you're an Ahri main looking for something practical over flashy, this beats out several of her more expensive options. The Academy theme fits her personality perfectly too, making her feel less intimidating when you're learning her combos.
