After spamming 80 games with Worldbreaker Maokai this patch, I'm convinced this skin actually gives you a slight edge in teamfights that other Maokai skins don't provide. The twisted nature sounds and darker particles make everything feel more impactful, especially when you're peeling for your carries.
The Q knockback feels smoother to cancel compared to base Maokai, and the saplings are way easier to track in river bushes with their corrupted glow. Your W root animation is probably the cleanest part though, with zero visual clutter when you're diving their backline. During a baron fight yesterday, I noticed enemy reactions were consistently slower to my ult because the advancing wall blends better with terrain on this skin. And the E toss has this satisfying weight to it that makes CS timing more intuitive somehow. Meowkai might be cuter, but Worldbreaker's animations flow better for actual gameplay.
Is Worldbreaker Maokai worth it at 1350 RP? If you're planning to main the tree or already have decent games on him, absolutely. The skin isn't quite pay-to-win but it's close enough that I'd call it pay-to-perform-slightly-better. My experience with Worldbreaker Maokai has been overwhelmingly positive after initially thinking it looked too edgy in previews. The recall animation where he corrupts the ground is insane too, perfect for tilting enemies after winning a trade.
For support Maokai players who want clarity in chaotic fights, this beats every other skin in his collection. But if you just want something flashy for occasional ARAM games, maybe grab Meowkai on sale instead. Worldbreaker shines when you're grinding ranked and need every small advantage you can get.
