Grabbed Warlord Shen from a mystery chest last month and honestly wasn't expecting much from this 975 RP skin. After about 40 games though, I'm actually impressed with how clean it feels compared to base Shen. The samurai aesthetic hits different when you're standing over a dead Yasuo who thought he could outduel you.
The Q empowered autos feel way more responsive than default, probably because the sword glow is more visible in teamfights. Your taunt animation looks smoother too, making it easier to judge the hitbox when you're threading it through minions for that clutch engage. But what really sold me was using ult on my fed ADC during a baron fight. The shield effect is so much clearer than Pulsefire's cluttered particles, and my Jinx actually noticed she had it this time instead of inting into their backline. Compared to other Shen skins like TPA or Frozen, Warlord just feels less clunky overall.
Is Warlord Shen worth it if you're a regular player? It's purely cosmetic but the cleaner animations do help with timing your combos. The recall animation where he sheathes his blade is pretty sick too. My experience with Warlord Shen convinced me it's one of his better skins, especially since Pulsefire costs twice as much and doesn't feel any smoother in practice.
If you main Shen or play him occasionally in your champion pool, this skin's worth picking up when it goes on sale. The visual clarity alone makes those split second ult saves easier to pull off, and you'll look good doing it. GG to whoever designed this one.
