After maining Akshan since release and hitting 500k mastery points last month, I finally grabbed Three Honors during the recent sale. My friends kept asking if it's worth picking up compared to other Akshan skins, so here's my take after around 80 games with it.
The skin completely changes how his kit feels in game. His Q boomerang has this satisfying golden trail that's actually easier to track in teamfights than base or even Cyber Pop. The E swing feels more responsive with cleaner animation cancels, which matters when you're trying to pop off those quick trades in lane. But the real difference is his W passive marks, they're way more visible with that honor glow effect. Yesterday during a dragon fight, I could instantly see which enemy had my mark through all the chaos, landed the perfect ult angle, and we turned what looked like a lost fight. That visibility alone probably won me three or four games where I would've missed the reset timing on base skin.
Compared to Crystal Rose which I used for 200+ games before this, Three Honors just feels less clunky overall. The auto attack animation is smoother for last hitting, especially when you're trying to CS under tower pressure. Crystal Rose has better sound effects maybe, but Three Honors gives you actual gameplay advantages. It's not completely pay to win, but there's definitely a slight edge with the visual clarity on abilities.
For any Akshan main wondering if Three Honors is worth it, I'd say absolutely. The skin aged really well since release and still holds up against newer options. Just wait for it to rotate back into the shop if you missed the initial Three Honors event, the exclusive nature makes it even better when enemies realize what you're running.
