Sultan Gangplank

Sultan Gangplank was my 975 RP gamble after getting destroyed by one in ranked, and after 55 games with it, I can honestly say it's become my go-to over Captain and Pool Party. The skin transforms GP into this golden menace that just feels more imposing in lane, especially when you're setting up those early barrel chains.

The Q animation feels snappier compared to base, making last-hitting with Parrrley more responsive when you're trying to stack that passive gold. But where Sultan really shines is the barrel visibility. Those golden kegs stand out perfectly against river terrain during dragon fights, which saved my ass multiple times when I needed to pop off a triple barrel combo in the chaos. Last week I clutched a 2v4 at dragon pit because I could actually track my barrels through all the spell effects, something I probably would've missed on Special Forces. And the ult? The golden cannonballs raining down just hit different when you're watching enemies panic flash out of your zone control.

Compared to other Gangplank skins like Dreadnova, Sultan sits in this sweet spot where it's flashy enough to feel premium but not so over the top that it becomes distracting. The cleaner animation on his passive reset makes those level 2 all-ins feel more fluid, though I think the orange eating animation could be better. Is Sultan Gangplank worth it for GP mains? If you're serious about climbing with the captain and want something that won't tilt you with visual clutter, this skin delivers. It's purely cosmetic advantage but those small clarity improvements add up over hundreds of games.
