Star Guardian Sona

Star Guardian Sona completely changes how her auras feel in teamfights, and after 80 games with this skin, I can confidently say it's worth the 1350 RP if you're serious about playing her. The visual clarity on this skin is insane compared to DJ Sona, which I mained for years before making the switch.

Her Q feels way more responsive with the star projectiles being easier to track than base skin's subtle notes. The W shield has this bright pink bubble that makes it super obvious when you've actually hit allies, which matters when you're trying to clutch save someone getting dove under tower. But the biggest difference is probably her E powerchord. The animation is cleaner and the sparkle trail makes it easier to see who's actually getting the speed boost in chaotic fights. During a recent Baron fight, I managed to save three teammates purely because they could see my W shield radius clearly and positioned themselves perfectly for the heal.

Compared to other Sona skins like Pentakill, this one is purely cosmetic but the visual improvements make it feel almost pay-to-win. The ult projectile is wider visually than it actually is, which sometimes baits enemies into flashing when they don't need to. And the recall animation where she floats with her familiar is one of the best in the game, though that's just a nice bonus.

Is Star Guardian Sona worth it? For support mains who play her regularly, absolutely. The visual clarity alone makes landing crucial abilities in teamfights way easier. If you're just picking her up occasionally though, maybe wait for a sale since the improvements won't matter as much when you're still learning her ranges.
