SSG Gnar

Ever since grabbing SSG Gnar from a chest last month, I've been spamming this skin for around 35 games and honestly, it's grown on me way more than expected. The white and blue color scheme hits different compared to other Gnar skins, especially when you're used to the orange furball running around Summoner's Rift.

The boomerang feels cleaner to throw somehow, like the animation has less wind-up even though it's probably the same frame data. Mini Gnar's hop is where this skin really shines though. During a baron fight yesterday, I could track my position better in the chaos because the white model pops against the purple pit. His mega form transformation feels more responsive too, maybe because the blue particles are easier to see coming. When you're about to rage out, teammates actually notice faster which helps coordination. Compared to Gentleman Gnar which I mained before, SSG feels less clunky overall.

Is SSG Gnar worth it if you're thinking about buying? For 1350 RP it's not exactly budget friendly, but as part of the World Champions 2017 set, you're getting solid quality. The recall animation where he holds up the trophy is clean, and the sound effects don't get annoying after extended use. It's purely cosmetic, no pay-to-win advantage here, but the visual clarity during teamfights makes it my go-to ranked pick now.

My experience with SSG Gnar surprised me since I wasn't planning to use it much. If you already own Snow Day or Dino, you might not need this one. But for Gnar mains looking to mix things up or anyone who wants better visibility in messy fights, it's worth considering when it rotates back into the shop.
