Spooky Gangplank

Grabbed Spooky Gangplank from a mystery chest last month and honestly wasn't expecting much from this old 520 RP skin. After about 40 games though, I'm actually shocked at how clean it feels compared to base GP. The ghostly blue effects make everything way more readable in teamfights, which matters more than you'd think.

The Q animation feels slightly faster than default, probably just visual but it makes last hitting smoother somehow. His barrels are these glowing jack-o'-lanterns that are insanely easy to track in messy fights. But the real difference is his ult. Those ghostly cannonballs dropping from the sky are so much clearer than the standard red circles. Had a dragon fight yesterday where I could perfectly track my ult damage through all the chaos while their Syndra was popping off. My team actually noticed the difference and asked about it after we won that fight.

Compared to other Gangplank skins like Captain or Pool Party, Spooky actually gives you better visual clarity despite being way cheaper. Captain's barrels blend into river fights and Pool Party's water effects get lost in blue side jungle. This skin's contrast is perfect. The recall animation is whatever, just him laughing with some bats, but you're not buying this for the recall.

Is Spooky Gangplank worth it? For 520 RP it's an absolute steal if you main GP or play him regularly. Not quite pay to win but definitely pay to see better. The visual clarity alone makes it better than skins three times its price. If you're learning GP or already have decent mastery, this should be your go to skin until you're ready to drop money on Betrayer.
