The Q animation has this punchy feel that makes last hitting with Parrrley somehow more consistent, probably because the muzzle flash is clearer than base skin. Your barrels look like actual military explosives instead of wooden kegs, which helps me time chains better since the fuse visibility pops against most backgrounds. And the ult? Instead of cannonballs raining down, you're calling in an airstrike that genuinely makes enemies panic more in teamfights. I remember this dragon fight where their Jinx literally flashed out of pit just from the visual alone even though she wasn't taking damage yet.

Is Special Forces Gangplank worth it though? For 975 RP it's not breaking the bank, and while it lacks the flashy particles of Captain or Betrayer, the cleaner animations actually help in ranked. The skin aged surprisingly well for something from 2012, and the Commando theme fits if you're collecting that set. My experience with Special Forces Gangplank convinced me it's lowkey pay to win just because enemies respect the military vibe more than a pirate with oranges. If you're a GP main who wants something less flashy but more functional, grab it next time it's in your shop. Otherwise stick with Pool Party for the memes or FPX if you want to flex.
