Sonoran Kog’Maw

Been spamming Sonoran Kog'Maw for about 40 games now after grabbing it from a chest, and honestly this skin hits different compared to other Kog'Maw skins. The desert theme completely changes how his abilities feel in game. His W feels snappier with that rattlesnake rattle sound, making it easier to time your trades in lane. And the Q projectile looks like a spitting cobra which is actually cleaner animation wise than base skin where the spit blob can be hard to track sometimes.

The best part happened during a dragon fight yesterday where I was kiting their fed Darius. The passive explosion when I died looked exactly like a tumbleweed rolling which threw him off just enough for my team to clean up. His E leaves these sandy puddle effects that blend better with river terrain than the bright green goo from base skin. Compared to my old favorite Battlecast, Sonoran actually gives you better visibility on your ult markers since they're these clear cactus spines instead of those clunky missiles. The recall where he burrows underground is probably the smoothest I've seen on any Kog skin.

Is Sonoran Kog'Maw worth it? For 520 RP it's absolutely worth especially if you're tired of the same old void puppy look. This isn't pay to win but the visual clarity on abilities definitely helps in teamfights. My experience with Sonoran Kog'Maw convinced me to make it my main skin over Pug'Maw which I thought would never happen. If you main Kog or just want something fresh that doesn't tilt your teammates with annoying sounds, this skin's perfect.
