Shan Hai Scrolls Neeko

Got gifted this skin through a mystery chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much since I mainly play Star Guardian Neeko. After about 35 games though, this skin completely changed my mind about what makes a good Neeko skin.

The Q feels way smoother to throw compared to base skin, and the explosion has this satisfying ink splash effect that makes it easier to see if you're hitting multiple targets in teamfights. Her W clone has this gorgeous scroll animation when it spawns that's actually less obvious than Winter Wonder's sparkles, giving you that split second advantage when you're trying to juke. But the real winner is her ult. The wind up animation with the swirling scrolls is cleaner than any other skin I've tried, and I swear the hitbox indicator is clearer when you're about to pop off in a dragon pit. Just yesterday I landed a 4 man ult at baron because I could perfectly see the edge of my circle through all the chaos, something I probably would've mistimed on base skin.

Compared to other Neeko skins like Star Guardian which I mained forever, Shan Hai Scrolls feels more responsive overall. The recall is absolutely insane with the whole painting yourself into existence thing, though that's purely cosmetic. At 1350 RP it's not cheap but the visual clarity alone makes it worth for anyone who plays Neeko regularly.

This isn't pay to win or anything, but the cleaner animations definitely help in clutch moments. If you're a Neeko main debating between skins, I'd recommend Shan Hai Scrolls over most others except maybe Bewitching. The competitive edge from better visual clarity is real, and the aesthetic doesn't tilt you after 100 games like some of her louder skins do.
