Shamrock Malphite

Malphite is a twenty-ton rock man who used to be part of an even larger rock that was destroyed, leaving him orphaned on a distinctly un-rocklike plane of existence. The guy could use a little luck.

Picked up Shamrock Malphite from a mystery chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much from this goofy green rock. After about 40 games though, I'm actually impressed with how clean this skin feels compared to base Malphite. The Q animation feels way more responsive when you're trying to poke in lane, and there's something about the shamrock particles that makes it easier to track where your shard actually lands. Been running him into Yasuo matchups and the visual clarity on this skin is insane for baiting windwalls.

The ult is where this skin really shines though. That green explosion when you hit R is probably the cleanest animation cancel I've seen on any Malphite skin, including Mecha Kingdom which costs triple the price. Had a dragon fight yesterday where I caught three people stacked near pit, and the impact felt so smooth I could instantly follow up with E without that weird delay base Malphite has. Your W makes you glow this bright emerald that's actually helpful for your team to track you in messy teamfights, which sounds minor but makes a difference when you're the main engage.

Is Shamrock Malphite worth it compared to other Malphite skins? For 520 RP it's honestly a steal if you can snag it when it comes back. Sure it's not as flashy as Dark Star or PROJECT, but the animations are tighter and less clunky than most of his expensive skins. This is pure cosmetic advantage, not pay to win, but the cleaner visuals definitely help with timing your combos. If you're a Malphite main who wants something functional over fancy, this beats everything except maybe Obsidian.
