Scorched Earth Xerath

Been spamming Scorched Earth Xerath for about 55 games now after grabbing it from a chest, and honestly it's become my go-to over Battlecast. The molten rock aesthetic completely changes how the champion feels to play, especially when you're popping off in teamfights.

The Q charge-up has this satisfying magma buildup that makes CSing feel cleaner somehow, probably because the animation frames are more responsive than base. But where this skin really shines is the W and E combo. That W crater effect is insane for clarity when you're trying to zone people off dragon pit. Had a game yesterday where we were behind and I managed to steal dragon by landing a perfect W into ult combo, and the enemy team couldn't even see it coming through all the chaos because the volcanic particles blend so well with the terrain. The E stun orb looks like a literal fireball which makes it easier to track in messy fights compared to other Xerath skins where the projectile gets lost.

My experience with Scorched Earth Xerath compared to Battlecast and Guardian makes this one feel less clunky overall. The ult is where opinions get divided though. Some people say the meteors are harder to dodge for enemies, making it slightly pay-to-win, but I think it's mostly cosmetic advantage. The sound effects when you're fed and deleting people are absolutely worth it alone.

Is Scorched Earth Xerath worth it if you main him? Definitely grab it if you see it in Your Shop or get lucky with a chest. The 1350 RP price tag might seem steep for an older skin but it aged incredibly well. Makes every game feel fresh when you're tilted from climbing.
