Grabbed Rogue Admiral Garen from a chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much since I usually run God-King or Warring Kingdoms. After about 40 games though, this skin's grown on me way more than I thought it would.
The Q animation feels smoother than base Garen and you get this satisfying sword trail that makes last hitting under tower somehow easier. His W has this subtle blue shield effect that's actually clearer than most skins when you're trying to time damage reduction in teamfights. But the ult is where this skin really shines. The massive anchor dropping from the sky is probably the cleanest execute indicator Garen has. Yesterday I was defending dragon pit against three enemies and popped ult on their fed ADC right as they flashed over the wall. The anchor visual made it super obvious I'd secured the kill before my team even saw the execute marker. That play won us the game and I'm pretty sure base skin would've been harder to track in that chaos.
Compared to other Garen skins like Steel Legion, Rogue Admiral feels less clunky overall. The auto attack animations flow better and there's something about the pirate aesthetic that just works when you're spinning through minion waves. Is Rogue Admiral Garen worth it if you're buying with RP? At 750 RP it's decent value, especially since the visual clarity on abilities gives you a slight edge. Not exactly pay to win but the cleaner animations definitely help.
For Garen mains who already own premium skins, this one's still worth considering when it goes on sale. The Bilgewater theme hits different and after my experience with Rogue Admiral Garen, I'd pick it over half his legendary options.
