Resistance Illaoi

Been spamming Resistance Illaoi for about 80 games now after picking it up during a losing streak, and honestly it's become my go to skin over Cosmic Insight. The metallic tentacles just feel more responsive compared to other Illaoi skins, especially when you're trying to land those clutch E pulls in teamfights.

The Q slam has this satisfying mechanical thunk that makes CS'ing feel smoother, and I swear the W dash animation is cleaner for animation cancels. But what really sold me was during a baron fight last night where I managed to pop off with a 4 man ult. The resistance tentacles have this distinct silver gleam that makes it way easier to track which ones are yours in chaotic fights, compared to base skin where everything blends together. My E feels faster too, though that's probably just placebo from the sharper pull animation.

Is Resistance Illaoi worth it compared to something like Void Bringer? For 1350 RP it's not exactly budget friendly, but the clarity advantage is real. The tentacles spawn with this mechanical emergence that's way more visible than the murky purple of Void Bringer, and when you're fed and need to track six tentacles at once, that visibility actually matters. It's not quite pay to win, but there's definitely a slight edge in readability.

After my experience with Resistance Illaoi, I'd recommend it for anyone who plays her regularly. The skin aged well since release and still feels modern. If you're just looking for something pretty, Cosmic is probably better value. But if you want every little advantage in ranked and don't mind the price, this one's worth grabbing next time it's in your shop.
