Picked up Pug'Maw from a chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much since I mainly play Hextech Annie when I'm not on my main. After around 35 games though, this skin completely changed how I feel about playing Kog'Maw in general.
The W feels way smoother compared to other Kog'Maw skins, especially Monarch where the animation sometimes feels delayed. Bio-Arcane Barrage on Pug'Maw has this satisfying pop that makes kiting feel more responsive, and I swear the auto attacks register cleaner during those crucial dragon fights. Last night we were contesting soul and I managed to melt their Ornn from max range because the visual clarity on my autos made it easier to track who I was hitting in the chaos. The Q projectile is probably the best part though, that little pug bone flies out so distinctly that landing it through minion waves feels way easier than base skin.
But what really sold me was comparing it to my friend's Battlecast skin. Where Battlecast feels mechanical and clunky, Pug'Maw keeps everything fluid while still being clear enough for competitive play. The ult indicators are bright without being obnoxious, and the death animation where he deflates is actually short enough that you can see what's happening around you when you int. It's purely cosmetic, no pay-to-win advantages, but the visual improvements make the champ feel less awkward overall.
Is Pug'Maw worth it if you're considering buying? For ADC mains who occasionally flex Kog, absolutely. My experience with Pug'Maw convinced me he's actually playable outside of protect comps. The skin makes him feel modern enough to compete with newer releases while keeping that goofy charm intact.
