PROJECT: Zed

Rising from the Command Line, Zed is a leader within PROJECT's counter-espionage units. He seeks out the G/NETIC rebels with split high frequency blades and molecular “solid smoke” projectors, favoring close-proximity and multiple angle target laceration.

PROJECT: Zed

After 120 games with PROJECT: Zed, I can confidently say this skin changes how the champion feels mechanically. The W shadow swap feels insanely smooth compared to base, almost like there's less input delay when you're trying to make those clutch escapes. Championship Zed might have the prestige factor, but PROJECT wins on pure gameplay feel.

The Q shuriken animation is probably the biggest difference you'll notice immediately. Where base Zed has that slight wind up that telegraphs your poke, PROJECT's shurikens feel instant and the cybernetic sound cues are way less obvious in teamfights. Your ult pop feels crispier too, especially when you're diving their fed ADC under tower and need that split second timing. Last week I won a dragon fight purely because the enemy Jinx couldn't track my shadow swaps as easily as she would against Galaxy Slayer's brighter effects. The E spin actually covers a bit more visual space than it should, making enemies respect your zone control more even though the hitbox is identical.

Is PROJECT: Zed worth it compared to other Zed skins? For 1350 RP you're getting animations that genuinely feel more responsive, not just flashy effects. The recall animation where he phases through dimensions is sick, but more importantly, the whole kit flows better for combos. Galaxy Slayer might be louder and Death Sworn has that smooth auto attack, but PROJECT strikes the perfect balance between clarity for you and confusion for enemies.

This isn't quite pay to win, but it's close enough that I'd recommend it to any Zed main looking to climb. The visual advantage alone makes those late game teamfights way easier to navigate when everyone's abilities are going off at once.
