PROJECT: Katarina

After maining Kat for three years with around 500k mastery points, I finally grabbed PROJECT: Katarina when it went on sale last month. My friends kept asking if PROJECT: Katarina was worth it since they know I usually rock Battle Queen, and honestly, after 120 games with it, this skin hits different. The cyber aesthetic isn't just eye candy, it actually changes how the champion feels in crucial moments.

The Q daggers are probably the biggest improvement over base skin. They're these glowing holographic blades that are way easier to track in messy teamfights, especially when you're trying to reset off multiple targets near dragon pit. Last night I was getting dove under tower by their fed Yasuo and Sejuani, and the clearer dagger visibility let me perfectly time my E resets to turn the 1v2. The ult has this sick digital distortion effect that somehow feels more responsive than Battle Queen's flowery spin. And the E blink leaves this neon trail that makes animation canceling feel smoother, though that might just be in my head.

Compared to other Katarina skins, PROJECT sits in this weird spot where it's not as flashy as Battle Academia but way more practical than something like Sandstorm. The 1350 RP price tag is worth it if you're serious about climbing with her. It's definitely not pay to win, but the visual clarity on abilities gives you that tiny edge when you need to pop off in ranked. Battle Queen still has the best recall animation, but PROJECT wins for actual gameplay feel. If you're a Kat main looking to upgrade from base skin, this is the one I'd recommend grabbing first.
