Pool Party Leona completely changes how aggressive you can be in lane compared to other Leona skins, and I'm not even kidding. After around 120 games with this skin since getting it from a chest last season, I've noticed the E animation feels way smoother than base or even Solar Eclipse. The surfboard projectile is easier to track mid-flight which sounds minor but actually helps you gauge whether you'll land it or not, especially during those clutch dragon fights where one missed engage means GG.
The Q stun has this satisfying beach ball bonk that makes the timing feel more responsive than her sword swings on other skins. But what really sold me was during a tower dive yesterday where the enemy Caitlyn flashed my E, except I could clearly see the hitbox thanks to the brighter colors and landed it anyway for the double kill. My ADC was tilted earlier but even they admitted the skin "hits different" after that play. Her W shield pop is probably the weakest change since it's just a sunburst effect, though the sand particles when it explodes give better visual feedback for timing your next rotation.
Compared to other Leona skins like Valkyrie or PROJECT, Pool Party feels purely cosmetic rather than pay-to-win, but the cleaner animations genuinely make combos flow better. Is Pool Party Leona worth it if you main her? Absolutely, especially when it goes on sale. The skin aged surprisingly well for being older, and while I wouldn't have bought it myself initially, now I use it more than my Lunar Eclipse. For support mains who want something fun without sacrificing clarity, this beats most of her serious skins hands down.
