Pool Party Caitlyn was my reward after finally hitting Gold this season, and honestly it's become my go-to skin after around 80 games with it. The water gun aesthetic might seem silly at first, but there's something about how the auto attacks feel that just clicks better than her other options.
The Q animation feels smoother to cancel compared to base Caitlyn, which matters when you're trying to weave autos during trades. Her traps are way easier to spot in river fights though, which can be a disadvantage when you're setting up for dragon. But the ult is where this skin really shines with clearer visibility of the targeting line, making it easier to track through minion waves. I remember this one game where I was fed and trying to snipe their ADC under tower, and I could actually see my ult path perfectly through all the chaos. Would've probably missed that shot on Pulsefire.
Compared to other Caitlyn skins like Arcade or Battle Academia, Pool Party feels less clunky overall. The recall animation is fun without being too long, and the sound effects aren't as distracting as some of her louder skins. Is Pool Party Caitlyn worth it? For 1350 RP, it's not exactly cheap, but if you're a Caitlyn main who values clean animations over flashy effects, this is solid. It's definitely not pay-to-win since those traps are easier to dodge, but the trade-off for smoother mechanics makes it worth.
My experience with Pool Party Caitlyn has been mostly positive, and I'd recommend it if you catch it on sale. Just don't expect any competitive advantages beyond feeling good about your gameplay.
