Overlord Malzahar

Been spamming Overlord Malzahar for about 100 games now after getting it from a chest, and honestly this skin hits different than I expected. The whole armored overlord aesthetic completely changes how the champion feels to play, especially when you're fed and commanding your voidlings around like an actual general.

The E spread feels way more responsive compared to base skin, and I swear the voidling spawn animation is cleaner which makes last hitting with them more consistent. Your Q silence has this satisfying metallic sound that makes landing it in teamfights feel more impactful, though the visual can get lost in dragon pit chaos sometimes. But where this skin really shines is the ult animation. The suppression beam looks thicker and more menacing, making enemies respect your range more in lane. I remember this one tower dive where their jungler hesitated for half a second because the ult looked so threatening, giving my jungler time to collapse for the double kill.

Compared to other Malzahar skins like Battle Boss, Overlord feels more serious and less distracting. Battle Boss has flashier effects but Overlord's darker palette makes it easier to track your abilities in messy fights. The skin aged pretty well considering it's from 2011, though the model could use some texture updates. It's purely cosmetic with no real pay-to-win advantage, but the psychological factor of looking like an endgame raid boss probably tilts some players. Is Overlord Malzahar worth it if you're a Malz main? If you can snag it from a chest or mystery gift like I did, absolutely. But at 975 RP there are probably better value options unless you really vibe with the overlord fantasy.
