Old God Nocturne

The great corpses of the Old Gods fed the land, and in time even the Elderwood would come to grow over their putrid rot–hiding it, perhaps, for a time. But the Gods never truly died and, with the resurgence of the Coven, one has risen again–Nocturne, the Eternal Nightmare.

Been spamming Old God Nocturne for about 80 games now after grabbing it from a chest, and honestly this skin completely changed how I play him. Most people sleep on this one compared to Eternum or even Hextech, but the visual clarity on Old God is actually insane once you get used to the darker palette.

The Q trail feels way smoother to track through river fights, especially when you're trying to hit multiple targets near dragon pit. Last night I was chasing their fed Jinx through jungle and the tentacle animations on my W made it super obvious when the spell shield popped, letting me instantly flash for the kill. But what really sells this skin is the ult. The screen effect isn't just cosmetic, it genuinely feels more oppressive than base Nocturne and I swear enemies panic more when they see those void tentacles closing in. Had a game where their support literally flashed into wall after my ult because the visual was so overwhelming.

Compared to other Nocturne skins like Eternum which everyone thinks is pay to win, Old God actually has cleaner animation cancels on the auto attacks after E. The tether looks thicker but the actual hitbox is identical, so it's purely visual advantage without being unfair. Worth the 1350 RP? Probably if you're a Nocturne main who wants something different from the typical tech skins.

Is Old God Nocturne worth it for casual players though? Maybe not. The darker effects can make it harder to CS in lane at first, and you might int a few games adjusting to the tentacle visuals. But once it clicks, this skin absolutely pops off in teamfights where visual chaos works in your favor.
