Old God Malphite

Got Old God Malphite from a chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much since I usually run Glacial or Mecha. After about 35 games though, this skin completely changed how I feel playing the rock. The purple void aesthetic hits different when you're engaging teamfights, and I think the cleaner animation on his W actually makes last hitting feel less clunky than base Malphite.

The Q feels snappier with that tentacle effect, making poke trades in lane way more satisfying. But the real difference is his ult. That void portal opening before you slam into enemies gives such a better visual cue compared to other Malphite skins where you just zoom forward. Had a game yesterday where we were contesting dragon and the enemy team was stacked in pit. My ult from over the wall looked absolutely insane with those tentacles erupting everywhere, and my ADC said it was easier to follow up because the impact zone is so clear. His E ground slam has this corruption spreading effect that makes the ability radius more obvious too, which probably helps enemies but also helps me gauge spacing better.

Compared to Mecha Malphite which I mained before, Old God feels more responsive overall even though Mecha has those tech sound effects I love. This is purely cosmetic though, not pay to win or anything. The 1350 RP price point is worth it if you're a Malphite main who wants something that feels premium without being too flashy. My experience with Old God Malphite convinced me to keep it as my main skin. If you play him regularly and want an upgrade from base that won't tilt you with weird animations, this is the one.
