Odyssey Jinx

Adept at building and/or destroying (but mostly destroying) a variety of haphazard, highly unstable weaponry for the Morning Star crew, Jinx also serves as the ship's pilot. Her previous job as a mining explosives technician resulted in a lot of collateral damage, and a thoroughly justified dismissal.

After spamming around 80 games with Odyssey Jinx this month, I can confidently say this skin completely changes how the champion feels to play. The visual overhaul from her base punk aesthetic to this space pirate vibe isn't just cosmetic, it genuinely affects gameplay clarity in teamfights.

The Q switcheroo animation feels way smoother compared to base Jinx or even Star Guardian. When you're kiting at max attack speed with rockets, the cleaner animation makes it easier to weave in movement commands between autos. Her W zap has this distinct orange laser that's actually harder for enemies to dodge since it blends with certain terrain better than the bright pink default. During a baron fight yesterday, I landed three consecutive zaps through the pit wall that probably would've been sidestepped with any other skin. The ult is where things get insane though. That massive orange alien shark bomb has such a different visual profile that people consistently misjudge the hitbox, especially when you're firing it from fog of war.

Compared to PROJECT Jinx which I mained before this, Odyssey just feels more responsive overall. The auto attack sound cues are sharper, making it easier to CS in lane without constantly watching your character. And the recall where she's tinkering with alien tech never gets old. At 1350 RP it's definitely worth grabbing if you're a Jinx main, though I wouldn't call it pay to win exactly. It's more like pay to tilt your opponents when they get chomped by that alien shark for the fifth time because they can't judge the hitbox properly. If you already own Star Guardian or Firecracker, maybe wait for a sale, but for anyone looking to pop off on Jinx, this is the one.
