Picked up Nightbringer Aphelios from a mystery chest last month and honestly wasn't expecting much since I mainly play with Lunar Beast. After about 50 games though, this skin completely changed how I approach teamfights with our sad moon boy.
The Severum Q feels way more responsive compared to other Aphelios skins, especially when you're trying to lifesteal through a messy dragon fight. Last night I was getting focused hard by their fed Zed and the clearer animation on Crescendum turrets actually saved my life. You can see exactly where they're placed in chaotic situations, which sounds minor but makes a huge difference when you're kiting backwards. And the Infernum ult? Pure eye candy that still manages to be clearer than base skin. The dark purple flames spread out in this satisfying wave that makes it easier to judge if you're gonna clip their backline or completely int your positioning.
Compared to EDG Aphelios which I used to main, Nightbringer just feels smoother overall. The auto attack animations don't have that slight delay that tilts me on the esports skin. It's probably not pay-to-win but there's definitely a clarity advantage here. The Calibrum marks are easier to track in lane trades too, which helps when you're trying to CS while poking their ADC. My experience with Nightbringer Aphelios has been surprisingly positive for a skin I never planned to use.
Is Nightbringer Aphelios worth it if you're buying with RP? Maybe not at 1350 if you already own Lunar Beast or Spirit Blossom. But if you get it from a chest or see it in Your Shop, absolutely keep it. The visual clarity alone makes it worth adding to your rotation.
