Monster Tamer Lulu caught me completely off guard when I pulled it from a hextech chest last month. After 35 games with it, I'm genuinely surprised how much better my Whimsy feels compared to base skin. The cast animation is way smoother and I swear I'm landing more successful polymorphs in teamfights because the projectile stands out better against river terrain.
The skin really shines during dragon fights where visual clarity matters most. Last night we were contesting soul and their fed Yasuo tried to dive our backline. My Glitterlance particles are these bright purple streaks that cut through all the chaos, making it easier to track who I'm slowing. Wild Growth on this skin has this satisfying pop that makes timing shields feel more responsive. Compared to my old favorite Cosmic Enchantress, Monster Tamer wins on readability but loses some of that mystical vibe.
Is Monster Tamer Lulu worth it? For 1350 RP it's probably not pay-to-win but the cleaner animations do give you a slight edge. The Pix model is adorable and the recall animation where she rides that little dragon creature is actually insane. But what sold me is how the Q projectile feels less clunky when you're trying to hit both bolts through minion waves for poke.
My experience with Monster Tamer Lulu convinced me to actually buy RP for the first time in years. If you're a support main who plays her regularly, this skin makes those clutch saves feel more satisfying. And compared to other Lulu skins in the same price range, this one offers the best mix of style and subtle gameplay improvements.
