Monarch Kog’Maw

Got Monarch Kog'Maw from a mystery chest last month and honestly wasn't expecting much since I usually run Pug'Maw or base skin. After about 40 games with it though, this skin completely changed how I feel about playing the void puppy.

The butterfly wings during W feel way smoother than base skin, and I swear the animation cancel on autos is cleaner. Your Q projectile looks like actual butterfly dust which makes it easier to track in teamfights compared to other Kog'Maw skins. But the real difference is the ult visibility. Those monarch butterfly markers are so much clearer than the base green splats, especially when you're trying to chain R's during a dragon fight. Had this insane moment yesterday where we were contesting soul, and I could perfectly track all five ult drops on their fed Katarina because the butterflies stand out against the pit walls. On base skin I probably would've lost track after the third one.

Is Monarch Kog'Maw worth it? Compared to Pug'Maw which feels clunky as hell, absolutely. The skin isn't pay to win or anything, but the visual clarity on abilities definitely helps when you're trying to kite at max range. My experience with Monarch Kog'Maw has been surprisingly positive for what looks like a simple butterfly theme. The 520 RP price point makes it accessible too. If you're a Kog main looking for something that feels responsive without breaking the bank, this beats most of his other options. Just don't expect Lion Dance levels of smoothness. It's good for what it is, and sometimes that's exactly what you need to pop off in ranked.
