Got Mecha Malphite from a chest last month and wasn't expecting much since I usually run Glacial or Shamrock. After about 55 games though, this skin's actually grown on me way more than I thought it would.
The Q feels snappier somehow, like the animation winds up cleaner when you're trying to poke in lane. But the real difference is his ult. The mechanical transformation during the knockup makes it easier to track who you've actually hit in messy teamfights. I remember this one dragon fight where their Yasuo tried to windwall predict my engage, but the clearer hitbox indicator let me angle it perfectly around him to catch their ADC. And his E activation has this satisfying metallic sound that makes you feel tankier even though it's probably just psychological. Compared to other Malphite skins like Coral Reef where everything feels underwater and sluggish, Mecha's animations feel more responsive overall.
Is Mecha Malphite worth it compared to his other options? It's definitely not pay to win or anything, but the visual clarity on abilities is noticeably better than base skin. The W doesn't have that weird delay feeling when you're trying to CS under tower either. My experience with Mecha Malphite has been surprisingly positive for what I thought would just be another robot skin.
If you're a Malphite main who plays him regularly, I'd say grab it when it goes on sale. The 1350 RP price tag is a bit steep for what you get, but the smoother animations make those clutch ults feel way more consistent. Not essential by any means, but it's become my go to skin when I need to pop off in ranked.
