Picked up Mad Hatter Shaco from a mystery gift last month and wasn't expecting much since I usually run Dark Star. After around 55 games though, this skin completely changed my mind about what a 520 RP skin can deliver.
The Q feels way smoother than base Shaco when you're setting up ganks. There's something about the poof animation that makes the stealth timing clearer, especially when you're trying to maximize your backstab window. His E daggers have this playing card effect that's actually easier to track in teamfights compared to other Shaco skins I've tried. And the clone from your ult looks absolutely insane with that top hat bouncing around. Had a game yesterday where the enemy Jinx burned flash trying to get away from my clone near dragon pit because she couldn't tell which was real in the chaos. The hat wobble on both makes it genuinely harder for enemies to distinguish who's who when you're dancing around them.
Compared to other Shaco skins like Nutcracko or Workshop, Mad Hatter holds up surprisingly well despite being older. The animations feel less clunky than Workshop's mechanical movements, and the recall where he pulls rabbits from his hat is still one of the best in his collection. It's purely cosmetic though, no actual gameplay advantage besides maybe the clone confusion factor.
Is Mad Hatter Shaco worth it? For the price, absolutely. It's probably the best value skin in his lineup if you don't want to drop 1350 on Dark Star. My experience with Mad Hatter Shaco convinced me that sometimes the cheaper skins can be just as satisfying to play. Would recommend to any Shaco main looking for something different without breaking the bank.
