Lunar Eclipse Aatrox

One of the few who took up the mantle of the Eclipse Knights in the days of old, Aatrox hopelessly pined for Kayle's affections… but she could only ever love the blazing sun. When she devoured it, the entity's lunar corona consumed him. He exists now as Kayle's monstrous, once-noble shadow, ever at her side.

Picked this up from a chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much since I usually rock Prestige Blood Moon. After about 35 games though, Lunar Eclipse Aatrox has completely changed my mind about what makes a good skin.

The Q sweet spots feel way cleaner on this skin compared to base Aatrox. Something about the lunar effects makes it easier to judge the edge hitbox, especially during chaotic teamfights. Your W chains have this purple glow that's actually easier to track than Mecha's bright orange, which sounds weird but it's true. And the ult transformation is probably the smoothest I've felt on any Aatrox skin. Yesterday I was getting camped hard by their jungler, popped ult at 20% HP under tower and the visual clarity helped me land all three Qs perfectly for the double kill. The wings don't block your vision like Justicar does, which is huge when you're trying to CS while fed.

Is Lunar Eclipse Aatrox worth it? Compared to other Aatrox skins, this one sits right between flashy and functional. Blood Moon still has the best recall animation but Lunar Eclipse wins on gameplay feel. The animations are more responsive than base skin, making those Q cancels feel less clunky when you're trying to stick to mobile champs. It's not exactly pay to win but there's definitely a slight clarity advantage.

For 1350 RP it's a bit steep if you already own Blood Moon or Prestige. But if you're looking for your first Aatrox skin or want something that feels smooth without being too distracting, this is it. Mains will appreciate the subtle improvements even if they're not game changing.
