Got this from a mystery chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much from a 520 RP skin. After about 40 games though, I'm actually shocked at how clean this feels compared to base Cho'Gath. The Q rupture has this subtle water splash effect that makes it way easier to see the exact edge of the hitbox, which has saved my ass multiple times when trying to land those max range knockups on fed ADCs.
The biggest difference is definitely how the ult feels. Something about that chomping animation just feels faster than base skin, even though I'm pretty sure the frames are identical. Maybe it's the sound effect or the way Nessie's head moves, but I swear I can cancel the animation cleaner when I need to flash out after securing dragon. Speaking of dragon fights, I had this insane play yesterday where the enemy jungler tried to smite steal but my feast animation was so smooth I got it frame perfect. The W silence also has this nice bubble effect that makes it super obvious when it lands, which helps my team follow up better.
Compared to other Cho'Gath skins like Dark Star, this one's purely cosmetic with no real pay-to-win advantage, but for 520 RP it's absolutely worth. Sure, it doesn't have the flashy particles or recall animation of the expensive skins, but there's something satisfying about playing as a goofy sea monster that tilts enemies when you're 10 stacks and taking up half their screen. Is Loch Ness Cho'Gath worth it? If you want a budget skin that still feels good to play, definitely grab it. Just don't expect anything game-changing beyond the cleaner Q visibility.
