Ironside Malphite

There are two kinds of mercenaries in the game today: the first being your rank-and-file sellsword, barely worth the stink of grog on his breath. The second is a nigh-indestructible golem, twenty feet tall, and made from the hull of a legendary gunship. Choose wisely.

Been spamming Ironside Malphite for about 100 games now after grabbing it from a chest, and honestly this skin hits different compared to other Malphite skins. The nautical theme actually makes his abilities feel heavier somehow, especially that Q which sounds like you're throwing an actual anchor at someone's face. Where base Malphite feels like tossing pebbles, Ironside's seismic shard has this satisfying metallic clunk that just makes harassing in lane feel more impactful.

The ult animation is probably the cleanest I've seen on any Malphite skin including Mecha Kingdom. There's this slight wind-up where he raises his anchor that gives you better visibility on when you're about to engage, and I swear the hitbox feels more accurate than base. Had a dragon fight yesterday where I caught their ADC pixel-perfect at max range because I could actually judge the distance properly. But the real winner is his W activation, which has this barnacle effect spreading across him that's way easier to track than the basic rock armor visual. You know exactly when your shield's up without checking buffs.

Is Ironside Malphite worth it compared to something flashy like Dark Star? For 975 RP it's not breaking the bank, and you're getting solid clarity improvements without the visual noise. The skin's purely cosmetic advantage-wise, but those cleaner animations genuinely help with timing. My experience with Ironside Malphite has been that it's perfect for anyone who wants something that looks good without being too extra. If you're a Malphite main who values clean gameplay over particle effects, this one's worth picking up when it goes on sale.
