Master Yi OTP here with 500k mastery points, and I've been testing Inkshadow Master Yi for about 70 games now after grabbing it on release. This skin completely changes how Alpha Strike feels compared to other Master Yi skins, and the visual clarity is actually insane for tracking your Q resets in teamfights.
The Alpha Strike animation has this ink trail effect that makes it way easier to see where you're going to land, which sounds minor but it's clutch when you're trying to dodge that final tower shot during a dive. Meditate looks darker and more subtle than PROJECT or Cosmic Blade, making enemies sometimes underestimate how long you've been channeling. But the real difference is Highlander. The ult activation has this ink explosion that feels more responsive than base skin, and I swear the auto attacks feel smoother when you're fed and running someone down. Had a dragon fight yesterday where I could perfectly track my Q cooldown just from the visual cues alone, ended up getting a penta because I knew exactly when to go back in.
Comparing this to PROJECT Yi which I mained forever, Inkshadow wins on clarity but PROJECT still has better sound effects. The 1820 RP price point makes it worth considering if you play Yi regularly. It's not pay-to-win but the cleaner animations definitely help in those chaotic late game fights where every millisecond counts. My experience with Inkshadow Master Yi has been mostly positive, though I think Cosmic Blade still edges it out slightly for pure intimidation factor. If you're a Yi main looking for something fresh that won't tilt you with clunky visuals, this skin's probably your best pickup this year.
