Picked up Infernal Shen from a chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much since I main top but rarely touch tanks. After around 35 games though, this skin completely changed how I approach playing Shen, and I'm actually considering becoming a two-trick now.
The Q empowered autos feel way more responsive compared to base Shen, especially when you're trying to weave them between minions for CS. His taunt animation has this fiery trail that makes it easier to judge the hitbox, which saved me countless times during dragon fights when I needed to flash taunt their fed ADC. But the real game changer is the ult visibility. Yesterday I was split pushing bot and saw my mid getting dove under tower, and the glowing red shield effect made it super clear when my ult actually connected, letting me time my TP perfectly for the cleanup. Compared to Pulsefire Shen which I tried on a friend's account, Infernal just feels less clunky overall.
Is Infernal Shen worth it? For 1350 RP it's probably one of the better value skins in his collection. The W zone is bright orange which makes it easier for your teammates to position correctly, and enemies seem to respect it more too. I wouldn't call it pay to win, but the clearer animations definitely help in teamfights when everything gets chaotic. My experience with Infernal Shen convinced me that visual clarity matters more than I thought, especially on a champion who needs to track multiple things at once.
If you're learning Shen or already main him, this skin makes the champion feel smoother without being distracting. Worth grabbing next time it's in your shop.
