Hextech Renekton

As is so often the way, artificers of the Hextech Renaissance pushed too far and too fast into their new science, without fully considering the possible consequences. Renekton—a half-mad monster of flesh and metal—is the result of that shortsightedness.

After 50 games with Hextech Renekton, I finally get why this skin feels so different from the rest of his collection. The mechanical precision on this thing is actually insane compared to something like Pool Party or even Prehistoric. Where those skins have this floaty, disconnected feeling during combos, Hextech makes every cancel feel intentional and clean.

The W stun has this distinct mechanical clunk that makes it super obvious when you've locked someone down, which helps a ton in messy teamfights. His Q feels tighter too, with the blade sweep animation matching the actual damage frames way better than base skin. But the real game changer is probably the ult transformation. That blue energy surge is so much clearer than the standard red fury effect, making it easier to track your own rage bar in peripheral vision. Just yesterday I was defending dragon pit against three people, and being able to instantly read my fury state while kiting around helped me time the perfect empowered W into Q to turn the fight.

Is Hextech Renekton worth it though? Compared to other Renekton skins, this one sits in a weird spot. It's not quite pay to win like some claim, but the cleaner animation cancels definitely give you an edge if you're already decent at the croc. The exclusive nature makes it special, sure, but if you're just looking for a solid skin that feels good, Blackfrost might give you similar satisfaction without the grind. Still, after maining him for years, this is the only skin where I don't miss inputs anymore. For serious Renekton players who want every possible advantage, it's absolutely worth picking up.
