Got Hextech Rammus from a chest last month and honestly wasn't expecting much since I usually run Full Metal or King Rammus. After around 50 games though, this skin's probably become my go to for ranked matches.
The Q powerball feels way more responsive than base skin, especially when you're trying to thread between minions for a gank. His W activation has this crisp mechanical sound that makes timing your defensive curl in teamfights feel cleaner somehow. But what really sells it is the ult animation being less clunky than most other Rammus skins. I remember this one dragon fight where enemy Vayne was kiting me hard, and I swear the tremors visual clarity helped me zone her better than I could with King Rammus. The hextech blue effects make it easier to track your AOE radius when everything gets chaotic.
Compared to other Rammus skins like Full Metal, Hextech actually gives you better visibility during your taunt. The enemy champion gets this distinct blue glow that's super clear even in messy 5v5s. Is Hextech Rammus worth it if you're buying with RP? For an exclusive skin, absolutely. The animations are smooth enough that I'd argue it's borderline pay to win in terms of Q canceling into flash taunts. My experience with Hextech Rammus convinced me that sometimes these gemstone skins aren't just collector bait.
If you're a Rammus main who wants every edge in ranked, this skin's worth the investment. Sure it's limited availability, but the technical improvements over base and even some epic skins make it feel insane value for anyone who plays the armordillo regularly.
