Heartthrob Caitlyn

Got Heartthrob Caitlyn from a chest last week and honestly wasn't expecting much since I usually rock Pulsefire, but after 35 games with it, this skin's actually grown on me way more than I thought it would. The whole Valentine's aesthetic seemed kinda cringe at first but the execution is pretty solid.

The auto attacks feel smoother than base Caitlyn, and her Q has this satisfying pink trail that makes it easier to track in teamfights. Her W traps turn into these heart-shaped boxes that enemies probably hate seeing but they're actually harder to spot in river bushes compared to other skins. The ult is where it really shines though, that heart-shaped scope gives you better visibility of your target and I swear the channel feels more responsive when you need to cancel it fast. During a baron fight yesterday, I managed to snipe their fed Jinx through three bodies because the pink targeting line was so clear against the purple pit.

Compared to other Caitlyn skins like Arcade or Battle Academia, Heartthrob sits in this weird middle ground where it's not flashy enough to tilt enemies but clean enough to feel like an upgrade. The recall animation with the love letters is whatever, but those cleaner animation cancels on her E-Q combo make it worth using in ranked. It's definitely not pay-to-win like some claim, but there's enough small improvements that make CSing and kiting feel better.

Is Heartthrob Caitlyn worth it if you're buying with RP? Maybe wait for a sale unless you're really into the theme. But if you get it from a chest like I did, it's absolutely worth using over base skin and even some of her pricier options.
