Groovy Zilean

Got Groovy Zilean from a chest last month and honestly wasn't expecting much since I mainly rock Blood Moon when I play the old man. After about 40 games though, this skin completely changed my mind about what a 520 RP skin can deliver. The disco aesthetic seemed cringe at first but it's actually grown on me in the best way possible.

The Q bombs feel way smoother to double bomb with compared to base skin, probably because the disco ball animation is cleaner than his normal clock particles. Your W speed boost has this funky trail that makes it super obvious when you're speeding up allies, which helped me coordinate better ganks with my jungler. But the real game changer is his ult animation. That giant peace sign is impossible to miss in teamfights. I remember this insane dragon fight where our fed Katarina went in too deep and I managed to ult her through three people stunlocked under my double bombs. The clarity on that revive circle saved the game since everyone could see she had GA basically.

Compared to other Zilean skins like Time Machine or even Sugar Rush, Groovy actually gives you a slight edge in visibility. It's not quite pay to win but the animations are definitely more responsive than base. My experience with Groovy Zilean surprised me considering it's one of his older skins. The disco theme might seem dated but the technical improvements make it worth picking up if you're a Zilean main looking for cleaner combos. Is Groovy Zilean worth it? For the price and what you get, absolutely. Just don't expect Blood Moon level quality and you'll probably love it.
