After 55 games with Grim Reaper Karthus, I'm convinced this skin changes how you perceive his kit entirely. The scythe replacing his staff makes every Q feel like you're actually harvesting souls instead of just dropping damage circles, and compared to other Karthus skins, this one has the most satisfying visual feedback when you're farming.
The Q animation feels cleaner with the ghostly blue effects, making it easier to track in chaotic teamfights. Your W wall becomes this eerie green barrier that honestly tilts enemies more than the base skin ever could. But what really sold me was using ult during a dragon fight yesterday when their ADC thought they escaped with 200 HP. The death animation with the reaper appearing above them as they die is probably the most satisfying visual in the game. Even my teammates were typing "that ult animation is insane" in chat. Pentakill Karthus might have better music, but Grim Reaper's animations are way more responsive, especially when you're trying to weave autos between Qs for that extra CS.
Is Grim Reaper Karthus worth it? For 975 RP, you're getting one of his cleanest skins that actually helps with clarity. The darker color scheme makes it easier to see your positioning against bright terrain, and the scythe auto attacks feel less clunky than his regular staff swings. It's not pay-to-win by any means, but the visual improvements definitely help you track abilities better in messy fights. My experience with Grim Reaper Karthus convinced me to main him this season, and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants their Karthus to feel more threatening while actually improving gameplay visibility.
